Job Title: 107/234 Field Mechanics (Afghanistan)
Description
Columbia Helicopters, Inc. in Aurora, Oregon, located 22 miles south of Portland, has immediate openings for 107/234 Field Mechanics. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following •Facilitate in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting aircraft and engines to ensure aircraft conformance with FAA regulations. •Assist in loading/unloading cargo and passengers. •Accompany aircraft with daily flight demands to facilitate operational requirements. •Communicates effectively with on-site supervisor on discrepancies that have been identified and or adjustments that might be needed to aircraft and engines. •Facilitate in carrying out the duties as assigned to prepare the aircraft and supplies as operational demands require. •Ensures that all work that is done I/A/W the applicable programs and policies. •Responsible for identification of aircraft discrepancies and the determination if the discrepancy is or is not within acceptable limits as determined by the manufacturer or other data that is acceptable to the FAA.Responsible for ensuring that any ground support equipment associated and assigned to the aircraft is maintained in proper order. •Performs other duties and functions as directed by the Director of Maintenance or on site supervisor. •Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience This position requires; high school diploma or equivalent; maintenance experience on CH-46, CH-47 Model 234 and/or Model 107 required. Iraq/Afghanistan theater, 135 experience and A& P license preferre Must conduct oneself with Company's Core Values. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within this field. Must have the ability to work and communicate in a positive and constructive manner with other employee's to maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition with continuous thought toward improvements in procedures and work environment to enhance productivity and safet The successful candidate will be a self starter and possess knowledge of principles and functions of aircraft systems and will perform a variety of tasks while under general supervision as well as rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Comply with all company and federal drug and alcohol policies. Work Environment Travel to and between remote locations(s) in austere environments. May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure. Physical Demands •Must be able to walk, stand and work on uneven ground and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods of time. •Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs. •Must be able to lift 50 pounds •Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees, and reach above/below shoulders •Must be able to read and understand the English language. •Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear •Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths.
